Welcome to the Shed

Hello!

And welcome to the shed.  I'm Dave, the Shedmaster.

What is the Shed you ask?  Well, the Shed is a trip to the cabin without the long drive.  But more importantly, the Shed is a state of mind.  The realization doesn't come to you immediately, but it overtakes you like a slow wave.  A person becomes very connected to the Shed and it grows from there.

The Shed started out as just that.  It was used to store lawn mowers and tools and the like.  Then one day I, the Shedmaster, was in the Shed with my friend Chip and a boombox.  We listened to music and drank a few beers and it just felt right.  Not long after, another friend and Shedhead, the Irish Lord offered to bring power to the shed.  This was a major turning point. A year later my friend Brentster gave me the gift of electrical improvements that enhanced the Shed even more.  When done, with ceiling fan installed and running (courtesy of Tom, the Fanmaster), the refrigerator plugged in keeping the beer and pop cold again, it felt right.  Then Chip and Kathy gave me a new stereo system complete with CD player.  This was good.

Soon there were parties in the Shed.  Friends gathered there in small and large numbers to share their weeks and their ideas and their smiles.  Later, Tom (now known as Tom the Fire God, also "The Grillmaster") in his all-knowing way decided that a campfire was needed.  Thus was born the fire ring in front of the Shed.  There have been hundreds of fires since then.  A green light was added to the back of the Shed that can bee seen from afar.

More recently, the Shed has been air conditioned, heated for year-round use, and a hammock and microwave have been installed.  All the comforts of home have been added to make the Shed a more welcoming place.  The Shedmaster and the Irish Lord have even added an 8’ x 10’ annex to house all of those unsightly tools and lawn machines that once cluttered the Shed.

When the green light is on, the Shed is open.  Come in and enjoy.

This website is dedicated to the Shed and all the Shedheads (those who are Shedworthy) and future Shedheads (those who have yet to see the green light).   Please be patient with the development of this website.  It is and always will be a work in progress.

Welcome to the Shed.  Come in, look around, enjoy yourself and most importantly --

  HAVE FUN!
